I imagine you have been praying and thinking about who God might have you sponsor to the Women's Spring Tres Dias Weekend. Here are some guidelines and responsibilities for you to consider when sponsoring someone.
The process of sponsoring has changed to an electronic process that starts with a sponsor application. It is important for you to have your candidates email and to make sure you enter it correctly.
When you click 'save' at the bottom of the sponsor application the system automatically (& immediately) sends you and your candidate an email for them to fill out their portion of the application. Please follow up with your candidate to make sure they received the email with the link to complete the form. The email comes from 'admin@tresdias-mt.org' so please check your spam folder as well if you don't see it. Also, do not email that admin address if you having problems, it is not a monitored email account and only for server use.
If you have any questions about this process, please contact me: Holly 212-7254 or hkodell@gmail.com

Sponsor support on the weekend includes:
Arrange transportation to and from the weekend.
Pray for your candidate at all times.
Provide palanca for the candidate.
Attend closing and Mananitas.
Provide sufficient palanca from others to receive throughout the weekend.
Offer to help the candidate’s family (baby sitting, meals etc.).
Notify the candidate’s clergy that he/she will be attending this weekend. For further guidelines ask your local secretariat.
FOURTH DAY SUPPORT:
The sponsor should recognize that a long term commitment is being made to the candidate by sending the candidate to Tres Dias. The sponsor should help the new pescador to live the fourth day as it is presented on the weekend, by encouraging the new pescador to be an active and contributing member of a church body, by encouraging him/her to join or form a Reunion Group, attend Secuelas, and become involved in the local secretariat. In general, the sponsor should be responsive to the needs of a new Pescador until the Pescador is well established in the Fourth Day. I have read the above and I have reviewed my candidate’s application.

Here are a few guidelines for sponsoring from the Tres Dias MT web site:
Sponsorship must be viewed as a total commitment, not just a partial act of selection. Sponsorship means to help one become more of a leader for Christ through the Tres Dias experience. As a sponsor, consider the following:
1) Recognition that Tres Dias is not for everyone. Offering Tres Dias to someone comes only after I am willing to make a significant commitment to that person. If I am not willing to make that commitment, I should not sponsor.
2) Am I willing to make a significant commitment to my candidate Before, During and After the weekend? If I am a member of the team have I found someone to fulfill the sponsor duties during the weekend? (See Weekend Support below)
3) Have I honestly looked at my reasons for sponsoring?
4) Do I know my candidate, or do I just know about them?
5) Have I prayed for guidance and sought counsel with other experienced Pescadors, if needed? Is this the right time for the candidate?
6) Do I feel comfortable sponsoring my candidate's spouse? (If possible, the applications for married couples should be submitted at the same time to assure placement of the wife on the next women's weekend.)
7) Have I discussed the suggested donation with my candidate? (Sponsors are not required to pay for their candidate's weekend but need to make arrangements for the payment by someone.)
8) Are they actively seeking a closer walk with the Lord?
